This 4,200 square foot apartment on Manhattan’s Fifth Avenue, with sweeping, panoramic views of Central Park, was designed to suit a young, spirited family with a well-considered collection of contemporary art, balancing a classical elegance with modern influences. After living downtown for a number of years, the clients fell in love with the traditional details in the apartment but needed a more accessible floor plan better suited to the hustle and bustle of family life. 

By opening doorways and raising door headers, as well as eliminating a vestibule so that guests enter directly into the apartment from the elevator, we ​created a visual connection from the interiors to the park beyond, opening the space for entertaining while maintaining an intimate, personal feel.
